ANDRE's debut on FREERANGE feats 2 original house cuts: "STILL DREAMING" & "WHATEVER I DO." The Berlin based producer/DJ was responsible for several dope underground house 12"s on how own BEST WORKS label as well as releases on INFRACOM, SIMPLE and G STONE. Limited edition 12".
Anthony “Shake” Shakir
Rush Hour is proud to present a compilation of producer Anthony "Shake" Shakir's best work he released on his Frictional Recordings label (and some on 7th City, too) over the past 15 years, circa 1994-2009. Shakir is an undoubted legend in early Detroit techno, shaping the sounds of artists such as Juan Atkins and Derrick May, and refusing to bow to trend or convention. The label Shake started brought us some of the deepest, funkiest and most diverse techno, though much has been overlooked in many cases. After a few years' hiatus, Shake is now back and will be recording and releasing on Frictional soon. But first, we look back and/or get the chance to catch up with his catalog. 4 x 12" + 7".
Big N Round Remixes
We begin with a salute to boobs. CLAUDE's low down cut gets a filthy tech bomb rework by one of his favs, MAETRIK, and on the flip HOLGER ZILSKE drops a super freaky computer-flavored funk mix. Totally DIRTYBIRD, quirky and awesome with bass to shake your clothes off.
Listen to Maetrik's remix:
Synthy goodness here. "SPIDERS" takes big string stabs over arpeggiated synth line, old school drums, and whips up a foot stomper. Acappella is included, plus a gritty big room tech house version from EWAN PEARSON and an fuzzy electro mix from PRINCIPLES OF GEOMETRY.

The Melancholy of Rick Wade 12”
Three amazing new tracks from Harmonie Park label-head Rick Wade. These are moody, slow-jamming grooves, with Wade's trademark melding of jazz and soul combining to create a seamlessly smooth deep-house garment.

Be Like Olive w/ Levon Vincent
Super tasty vinyl-only sampler with two sick remixes. Master of the dark & gritty house sound, LEVON VINCENT drops a rework of the title track that will have basements rumbling. Remix of "FEAR" on the flip w/ KATHY DIAMOND by ROY DANK & NICK himself.

Repercussions of a Razerblade 12”
A pensive, dubbed out track (think dubstep for a moody western film), while "A NEW DAWN" is a heavy breakbeat infused club track with all cylinders firing! Top notch business from LOEAFAH's SWAMP 81 label.

Could This Be Real (Joker Remix)
Diverging from his normal fare, the original album version is a dubstep (sorta) tune with some housey flair. Taking into superstar territory, JOKER was recruited to do a full tilt dubstep remix utilizing some of his trademark synth sounds. No drum & bass here.
