"Outlook" is just straight up fantastic indie rock songwriting: the lyrics tell the story of a down-on-his-luck, just-getting-by guy, the melody conveys a sense of good-natured defiance in the face of life's challenges and disappointments. "Emotional" is trippy, punk rock-influenced, and strangely tender, with its chorus of "We're both trying, you gotta give us that."
