Beloved, iconic heavy metal belter Ronnie James Dio passed unto the afterworld in 2010, after a long and satisfying career of gracing hard rock groups from Elf to Black Sabbath to Rainbow with his majestic pipes. While best known for songs like Rainbow's "Rainbow in the Dark" and Black Sabbath's "Neon Knights," he really never got old, and kept turning out great occult fantasy-metal til the very end. The Very Beast 2 collects the best tracks from his final albums, Angry Machines, Magica, Killing the Dragon, and Master of the Moon, plus three awesome bonus tracks. Though he'd left Warner Brothers by then, he continued to growl and rage with a grandeur that few can match. Not to mention, it's that much harder to track down his later material.
