Sisterworld (LP)
Liars

Amoeba Review
Often hard to pin down, the immensely creative Liars have thrown down everything from dance-punk to guitar bash & pop to witchy, howling atonal noise, always confusing and entrancing their listeners at every turn. Anyone who's been waiting for the definitive Liars album will rejoice for Sisterworld, which is easily their most gorgeous, ambitious, and successful yet. Majestic songs built of rushing, glacial textures, weirdly tuned guitar lines and Angus Andrew's plangent, layered vocals coalesce into a major album that sounds just as powerful on its mighty rockers as it does on its otherworldly ballads. Like Radiohead and Wilco, they've finally achieved sufficient mastery of both straightforward indie rock and alien experimentation to be able to fuse them into something utterly new and grand. Highly recommended! Read More
