Amoeba Review
The kids apparently want their ‘90s godfathers back, and bands like Garbage and the Smashing Pumpkins are obliging with some of their best music in years. So re-enter the Toadies, pretty much underappreciated Dallas grunge kings (beyond their minor hit “Possum Kingdom”). Todd Lewis & co. bash out enough chunky riffs and weird angsty vocals for a one-band ‘90s revival. Their creativity is unfettered after years of scene constraints and major-label associations, and they sound reinvigorated and ready to rumble. Definitely worth getting into.
