All of Folk Implosion's original compositions for the controversial '90s drama Kids have been compiled in the excellent new release, Music for KIDS. Led off by the brutally downbeat Top 40 hit "Natural One," the album includes brooding classics like "Jenny's Theme," "Crash," "Wet Stuff," and "Raise the Bells," plus B-sides and previously unreleased tracks. There's a bristling trip-hop inflected UNKLE remix of "Natural One" and a heady Dust Brothers remix of "Insinuation." It's all good stuff, and if it has been too long since you heard the Kids soundtrack, you just might be surprised by how intense, moody, and magnificent these songs still sound today.
