Amoeba Review
Daniel Tures, Hollywood 01/29/2013
This great East L.A. trio makes groovy, psychedelic indie-tropicalia with elements of cumbia and postpunk. Named for a fictional crimefighter who rescues fruit vendors and ice-cream trucks from La Migra. They were originally described to me as "somewhere between Television and tropicalia," and I thought, that sounds great, but it can't be true. But it TIS true! They really have that weird Television guitar interplay, off-kilter and cerebral. Wonderful eastside new wave chicano twang!
