Fighting (CD)
Thin Lizzy
Amoeba Review
Frankie Delmane 11/01/2010
Fighting is the record where it all came together for Thin Lizzy. Kicking off with a cover of Bob Seger's "Rosalie", a song the band clearly adopted their own, it is a clear statement of intent -this band is here to bang with the best. The entire LP is a hard rocker’s fantasy, every song riff and hook goes the extra mile to provide soul and warmth. "Fighting My Way Back" is a triumphant, balls-out, never-say-die in the face of true love song. From "King's Vengeance", "Wild One", and "Freedom Song", to the chomping boogie of "Suicide", or the mysterious ghost in the machine witchcraft of "Spirit Slips Away", it is quite obvious that the Thin Lizzy of classic rock radio had finally arrived.
