"What A Little Moonlight Can Do" [Single]

Billie Holiday

Amoeba Review

06/13/2013

This shuffling track, recorded at the first ever Monterey Jazz Festival in 1958, shows how versatile Holiday’s voice was even late into her career. Her improvisation is as fascinating as ever, capturing the mood of the lovestruck lyrics of the song, written for the 1934 film Road House and first recorded by Holiday in 1935, as her band matches her with whimsical backup.  Beautifully remastered from the most pristine Vinyl sources available. Billie as you’ve never heard her!
