Ty Segall - Biography
Ty Segall is a singer/songwriter who began playing guitar, drums and singing in lo-fi/garage bands, including the Epsilons, in Orange County, CA and in the San Francisco Bay Area. He made his solo debut in 2008 with a cassette release, but his 2009 album, Lemons (Goner Records), is considered his first official full-length. He followed up Lemons with a number of split 7" singles and a new full-length, Melted (Goner Records), in 2010. Ever profilic, Segall released two albums of new material in 2011, Live in Aisle Five (Southpaw) and Goodbye Bread (Drag City), and a collection of previously released tracks, Singles 2007-2010 (Goner Records). 2012 continued similarly busy, with three Segall releases: a collaboration with White Fence called Hair (Drag City); a record with his touring band, Slaughterhouse (In The Red), released under Ty Segall Band; and another solo album, Twins (Drag City), which came out in October.
