Although their first incarnation in the early 1980’s was brief, Soft Cell has left a lasting mark on music, mostly due to their massively popular cover of “Tainted Love.” The group’s mix of torchy vocals, electronic beats, and lush synthesizers became an inspiration for many artists in the ‘80s and in the world of electronica to this day.
