Amoeba Records Names Sierra Club's Angeles Chapter As A Charity of Choice for 2007!

By Ron Silverman Senior Chapter Director, Angeles Chapter Each year Amoeba Records selects a charity of choice, and this year the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter is a lucky recipient along with Rainforest Action Network! Amoeba raises money for their chosen charities through their infamous Saturday Auctions. Every Saturday at 4pm, Amoeba holds an exciting auction in the center of their gigantic store, where you can find the most rare, the most fun, and the most funky memorabilia, records, DVDs and much, much more! And the best part is that Amoeba will match every donation of up to $1000 (though there are many items available for much less.) We encourage everyone to show up at these auctions to support Amoeba Records and the Chapter, while taking home great music, movies and memorabilia for themselves—it’s win-win! Let’s have a big round of applause for Amoeba Records, we couldn’t be happier about this partnership. So, get out there and bid, bid, bid! Amoeba Records has store locations in Berkley, San Francisco and in Hollywood at 6400 Sunset Blvd. (next to the Arclight movie theatre). You can also visit Amoeba’s web site for more information. Amoeba Records has also recently launched its GREEN CAMPAIGN with the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter, Rainforest Action Network and Conservation International. The campaign is designed to expand Amoeba’s local and domestic support of the environment (as Amoeba has done with its Gulf Relief program), to the current global state of the environment. Through the new campaign, Amoeba will work closely with its non-profit partners by raising awareness of their issues and by raising funds through in-store donations, outside events and Saturday auctions.
