White Lies are an English post-punk band made up of Harry McVeigh (vocals, guitar), Charles Cave (bass & backing vocals), and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums). Meeting at school, they formed a band called Fear of Flying, but disbanded it in order to writer darker, more personal songs under the name White Lies. Their first album, To Lose My Life (Geffen), was released in March 2009 in the US and debuted at number one in England. White Lies have been touring practically non-stop since the summer of 2008, including playing with Friendly Fires, Kings of Leon, Glasvegas, and Coldplay. They were nominated for Best New Band at the 2009 NME Awards and won the 2009 MOJO Breakthrough Award. They released their second full-length album, Ritual (Geffen), on January 18, 2011.
