Hot Chip self-released their debut EP, Mexico (2000), and its follow-up, Sanfrandisco E-Pee (2002). Their first official full-length, Coming on Strong, was released in the UK in 2004 on Moshi Moshi and in in the US on DFA/Astralwerks in 2005. They released The Warning in 2006 which was nominated for the Nationwide Mercury Prize. The Warning featured "Over and Over" which was named the Best Single of 2006 by NME Magazine. Their third studio album, Made In the Dark, was released in 2008 and contained "Ready For The Floor" which hit #6 on the UK Singles Chart. Their most recent album, One Life Stand, was released on February 9, 2010.
Hot Chip has performed at numerous festivals including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Big Day Out, Coachella, Treasure Island Festival, Reading, and Leads. In 2010, they toured with LCD Soundsystem. They are also well known for their DJ talent and have released several mix compilations, including a DJ-Kicks album in 2007.
