Justice & Busy P – French Electronic Musicians
Formed in 2003, French duo Justice rose to prominence off the strength of their 2007 debut LP, Cross, after attracting attention early on for their remix of the Simian track "Never Be Alone." The pair received two Grammy nominations related to Cross: one for Best Dance Recording (for the single "D.A.N.C.E.") and one for Best Electronic/Dance Album. Their sophomore LP, Audio, Video, Disco was a departure for the band, which they described as "daytime music." Their latest release is 2016's Woman, another upbeat disco/funk/house hybrid.
Busy P is the stage name of Pedro Winter, Parisian DJ, producer, and Ed Banger Records head honcho. An early devotee to the now legendary French Touch scene, his electronic music career took off once Daft Punk asked him to manage them in 1996. In 2002, he launched Headbangers Entertainment, an artist management firm that repped artists such as Cassius and DJ Mehdi. A year later, he started Ed Banger Records which took the dance scene by storm with releases by Justice, Uffie, Mr. Oizo, and Breakbot. His latest release under the Busy P moniker is 2017's "Genie," a 12" single featuring Mayer Hawthorne.Less
