Hanni El Khatib is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer, and skateboarder based in Los Angeles. Growing up in San Francisco with Palestinian and Filipino parents who loved classic rock, El Khatib was surrounded by a mix of cultures who used English as a meeting point. On his debut full-length, Will The Guns Come Out (released Sept 27, 2011 on Innovative Leisure, a subsidiary of Stones Throw Records), his love of punk, garage rock, blues, and R&B from the '50s and '60s is transformed into his own particular sound. El Khatib's track "I Got a Thing," which is a reworking of Funkadelic's "I got a Thing, You Got a Thing, Everybody's Got a Thing," was used in a 2011 global ad campaign for Nike.
