The Books producer and co-founder Nick Zammuto has created one of the year’s most intriguing and arresting soundtracks through his work on director Jeremiah Zagar’s We The Animals. Featuring snippets of dialogue from the film often layered over sparse instrumentation and soft, warm washes of synths, the soundtrack basically gives off the air of a sound collage/found sound hybrid. It’s an evocative way to sonically convey the story of the film that will appeal to fans of the movie and fans of minimalist modern compositions alike. As dreamy and haunting as childhood itself.
