SebastiAn's sophomore release is a potent blend of the anxious and grinding with the ethereal and melodic, highlighted by guest artist turns and production skills he applied to Frank Ocean's Blond(e). Charlotte Gainsbourg's skipping vocals and distorted breaths increase the intensity of the ominous “Pleasant” and “Sober feat. Bakar” floats angelic synths under the rapper's drawl. But the solo tracks can be just as absorbing; the well-structured “Beograd,” for instance, morphs in and out of Daft Punk references with hypnotic trance segments.
