Paradise [Yellow Vinyl] (LP)
Healing Potpourri
Amoeba Review
Healing Potpourri takes it back to the easy living AM gold days of the ‘70s on Paradise. The sunshine-y sounds of soft rock fuse with psych and chamber pop elements to create tracks that feels like The Beach Boys hanging out with The Free Design while Martin Denny and Can wander in and out of the room. In reality, Paradise features the combined effort of Oakland’s Simi Sohota and The High Llama’s Sean O’Hagan—as inspired by the works of Robert Wyatt. This LP is a grooved out good time with real emotional depth; every day in Paradise may not be carefree (at least lyrically) but these melodies will surely conjure up the low-key beauty of summer breezes, sunny days, and time spent simply enjoying life.
