On the day Questlove, drummer for The Legendary Roots Crew, came shopping at Amoeba Hollywood with our "What's In My Bag?" crew in tow, he happened upon renowned Brazilian singer, Seu Jorge. The two took a moment to chat about music and exchange admiration for each other (off camera) in the kind of encounter that could only happen at Amoeba. In this episode, Questlove drops some knowledge, ponders a Jackson 5 album cover, and talks about his musical hero, J Dilla.



The Lonely Island

On Record Store Day 2011, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer (a.k.a. the musical comedy troupe The Lonely Island) returned to their favorite record store of their junior high days, Amoeba Berkeley. In this episode, the three friends, pick up comedy LPs, Hip-Hop classics, and the must-have album for every Berkeley home.

The progeny of John & Yoko and the youngest model ever to appear on the cover of Britain's Harper's magazine met at Coachella back in 2005. The musical couple who perform together as The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (or GOASTT) love digging for all types of esoteric music together. Lucky for us they let us in on their finds at Amoeba Hollywood including Stereolab, Nina Simone, Sun Ra, world music and bluegrass compilations, and more.
