Richard Marx - Biography

Richard Marx is a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter who wrote some of the most recognizable singles of the '80s and '90s, including "Endless Summer Nights," "Right Here Waiting," "Hazard," and "Should've Known Better." A former jingle singer and backing vocalist, he sang backup for Whitney Houston, Madonna, Luther Vandross, Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers before finally landing a solo record deal with Manhattan Records. His 1987 self-titled debut album was a huge success, catapulting him to fame as the first male solo artist in history to have four singles from a debut album hit the top three slots in the Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to his career as a performing artist, Marx also has an extensive career as a songwriter and producer, with chart-topping singles for NSYNC, Sara Bareilles, and Keith Urban to his credit. Over the course of his career, Marx has released eleven studio albums, toured the world, won a Gammy Award in 2004 for Song of the Year for "Dance with My Father" which he co-wrote and co-composed with Luther Vandross, and scored 14 number one singles, both as a performer and a songwriter/producer. Beautiful Goodbye, his first studio album in ten years, was released July 8, 2014.
