Here’s where things get a little bit squirrelly with Prince. ”Love Symbol Album” is the fourteenth studio album by Prince, issued by his own Paisley Park imprint via Warner Bros. in October of 1992; it’s also referred to as "O(+>" or sometimes just ”Symbol.” This is the oh-so notorious point in his career in which Prince, in the middle of a pitched battle with Warner Bros. over the ownership of his material, decided to change his name to an unpronounceable symbol, and refused to answer to anything else. That said (or not said), this is the second album co-credited to the New Power Generation, and it’s heavy on R&B and funk, with several excursions into hip hop. The two singles, "My Name Is Prince" and "Sexy MF,” were minor hits in the US.
