Amoeba Hollywood - October 6th @ 6:00pm
Deap Vally returns to the Amoeba Hollywood stage to celebrate the release of their new album, Femejism (Nevado Music). Meet Lindsey & Julie and get "Femejism" signed after their set. The album is out now! Purchase your copy of "Femejism" at Amoeba and bring your receipt with you to the signing.
KROQ Locals Only presents Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Death From Above & Deap Vally at The Wiltern in LA, CA on Oct 25.
The album follows the LA-based duo’s critically acclaimed debut, 2013’s ‘Sistronix.’ Femejism hears the band taking their guitar shredding, wild beats and scorched vocals to another level, elevating the sound Rolling Stone describes as “trashy blues-rock with a wink” and SPIN praises as “wickedly acerbic.” BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac praises their new track “Smile More” a “brilliant raging anthem.”
The duo of Lindsey Troy (vocals, guitar) and Julie Edwards (drums, vocals) granted themselves the gift of time and freedom to reclaim their art, recording Femejism over the course of two years. And it’s not without surprises. “Critic” is an intimate, stripped down guitar and vocals track, while Troy breathes fire on “Little Baby Beauty Queen” before album closer “Heart Is An Animal” burns it all down. “Smile More” follow the 2015 release of “Royal Jelly,” whose video features Georgia May Jagger and Zinner.
This fall, Deap Vally will support Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Death From Above 1979 on tour across the US, including Terminal 5 in NYC. The duo’s raw energy translates to “riotous and infectious” (Nylon) live sets on tour with everyone from Marilyn Manson to Iggy Pop to Peaches, and to festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury and Bonnaroo.
