La Santa Cecilia celebrate their new album, Treinta Dias, with a live in-store and signing!

"Based in Los Angeles and fronted by the smoky-voiced Marisol Hernandez, this fast-rising band splices and dices an array of Mexican and South American sounds in their songs, from Mexican norteño and ranchera to Colombian cumbia." -

La Santa Cecilia exemplifies the modern-day creative hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music. The group draws inspiration from all over the world, utilizing Pan-American rhythms like Cumbia, Bossa Nova, Rumba, Bolero, Tango Jazz, Rock, and Klezmer music. Their unique sound and the experience of their colorful, passionate performance leave’s fans and new listeners mesmerized.  They are proud to be from the city of Angels. The young members of La Santa Cecilia are immigrants, the children of immigrants and dreamers.  The Los Angeles based band that takes their name from the patron saint of music is the epitome of our new bi-cultural generation-fully immersed in the modern music and art of the country they have called home from their youngest days, while adventurously fusing together a new sound that also pays homage to the rich traditions of their Mexican heritage.  Fronted by the distinctively strong voice of La Marisoul, the often irreverent, but always artistically driven band literally developed their musical style and performance capability from the streets of Los Angeles.  The group that started by playing for tourists on the city’s famed Olvera street, now has become a leading bi-lingual voice for music fans across the city – with sold-out club dates, a Latin Grammy nomination already to their credit, a creative partnership with the innovative multiple GRAMMY and LATIN GRAMMY winning producer Sebastian Krys.

Treinta Dias is their new 8-song album which includes the first single with the timely message “El Hielo” (ICE).  Speaking to the experiences of their very own families, and to millions more in their community, this powerful narrative details the daily struggles of those that work toward a better future for themselves and their children, while fearing the separation from loved ones that can still happen in an instant.   The album also includes a collaboration with Elvis Costello on a duet “Losing Game.”
