From mid-'70s Cape Cod, Jade & Sarsaparilla is centered around Janet Hood's piano and the vocal interplay between her and partner Linda Langford. Their repertoire, highlighted by original compositions with lyrics by Tony nominee Bill Russell, runs from passionate singer-songwriter ballads to funky pop to jazzy cabaret, with songs of love and sexuality addressed sensitively, directly, and in the case of "I Need A Drink Of Water In My Mind," with a wry sense of humor.
