Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi explores love and loss on his sophomore album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent. On "How I'm Feeling Now," he tackles self-doubt and dissatisfaction through melancholic (yet catchy) choruses sung over plaintive strings. On the moving piano ballad "I Wish You the Best," he moves through the regrets of a relationship that didn't work out to find the deep, lasting love that underlies his current pain. Broken is relatable, heartfelt, and straightforward, just the kind of album you need for rainy days and lovelorn nights.
