The Bay Area’s beloved Phono del Sol festival returns to SF's Potrero del Sol Park in The Mission on Phono Del Sol 2019Saturday, June 15th from 12pm-7pm. Named San Francisco’s “Best Music Festival” by San Francisco Magazine, Phono del Sol promises a glorious summer afternoon filled with great music, food, and fun in SF’s beautiful Potrero Del Sol Park, which is also home to the city’s largest skate park. Attendees can enjoy artisanal drinks and local craft beers long with bites from some of the tastiest food trucks SF has to offer.

The Phono del Sol 2019 lineup features Domino Records’ synth-pop darling Porches; Seattle’s beloved indie rockers Chastity Belt; and Oakland’s own classically-trained hip-hop collective SOL Development, whose recent debut album, The SOL of Black Folk, showcases the power of healing through the art of hip-hop. Other Bay Area acts announced include math rock trio Covet from San Jose; East Bay experimental artist SPELLLING; Oakland’s bedroom-folk singer-songwriter Boy Scouts; and musician, composer, producer, and planetary scientist Salami Rose Joe Louis, who recently signed to seminal independent label Brainfeeder. Rounding out the day’s bill are the electro-pop icon AH-MER-AH-SU, budding MC and rapper Queens D.Light, and frenetic post-punk outfit Blues Lawyer.

New hip-hop releases to arrive into Amoeba this week include Diamond District's March On Washington Redux album that is an updated all remix version of their 2014 album March On Washington. The new CD from the power trio self-described as the “D.C. Voltron” and comprised of emcees Oddisee, yU and Uptown XO, again care of from the label that can do no wrong Mello Music, features non-stop remixes of all 13 tracks including such bangers as L'Orange's remix of "The Backup," the Diamond D remix of "Erything," and the Large Pro remix of "Working Weekends." Meanwhile Diamond District member/Prince George’s County, Maryland native Oddisee has just announced that he will be releasing a new solo album entitled The Good Fight. The album, which will arrive in Amoeba on May 5th again care of Mello Music has been described as a record that will remind you that it’s music before it’s hip-hop.
