Conor Oberst What's In My Bag? Amoeba Music

Say, who's that taking a snooze on the couch in th Amoeba Hollywood green room? Why it's none other than singer/songwriter Conor Oberst, who, after playing a spirited set on the Amoeba stage and going shopping for records, decided it was time for a little nap. Fortunately he was also game for a What's In My Bag? interview in which he shared some humorous, off the cuff insight into the records he chose, including Rage Against The Machine's The Battle Of Los Angeles. "I played a show one time with Rage...one of the scariest nights of my life," Oberst recalled. "I'm up there with, like, an acoustic guitar," he continued, "playing sad alt-country songs to Rage Against The Machine fans that all wanted me dead." Thankfully that experience didn't sour him on the band!

Conor Oberst Salutations A native of Nebraska, Conor Oberst has not only proven to be a prolific and driving force in Omaha's music scene, but also one of the most renowned singer/songwriters of his generation. Having joined his first band at the age of 13 he has been steadily releasing music since 1993. Over the following two plus decades, he has released cassette-only recordings, split 7-inches, and a dozen albums with his band Bright Eyes, as well as under his own name, as a member of Desaparecidos, as leader of the The Mystic Valley Band, and with the Monsters of Folk super-group. His most recent album, Salutations, was released in March 2017 on Nonesuch and includes full band versions of the ten songs from his 2016 album Ruminations, plus seven additional songs.
