Best Friends Animal Society’s sixth annual Strut Your Mutt 5K event is a fun way to raise money for the local animal welfare group, which helps to provide adoption for homeless pets, spay/neuter services and more.

The walk and 5K run takes place Oct. 10 at Exposition Park in Los Angeles. Registration starts at 7 a.m., with the 5K beginning at 9 a.m.

You’re welcome to bring your dog or walk or jog solo at this 5K, which is followed by a doggie-themed festival featuring pet contests, photos, doggie goodies, activities for dogs and people, food, refreshments and more. Celebrities such as Denise Richards, Michelle Beadle, Natalie Morales and Kristen Renton will all be heading their own fundraising packs at the 5K.

Strut Your Mutt is a national fundraising effort that takes place across 12 cities. Since 2010, it’s raised more than $5.2 million for Best Friends’ animal welfare partners. To get involved, please visit StrutYourMutt.org to donate or start your fundraising team. Come on down to Exposition Park Oct. 10 and join in the fun, get some exercise and donate to a worthy cause all at once!
