Strangelove Celebrates Dia De Los Muertos, Nov. 2nd in SF

Posted by The Bay Area Crew, October 15, 2012 03:10pm | Post a Comment

On Friday, November 2nd, Strangelove honors those who have passed by celebrating Dia de los strangelove dia de los muertosMuertos - the Day of the Dead - at The Cat Club (Folsom and 8th, San Francisco).

In the back room, DJs Tomas Diablo (Villainy - R.I.P.) and Bryan Hawk (Asylum - R.I.P.) play the best of Dark Electro, Industrial, New Wave, and Goth. In the front room, enjoy spooky sounds and surprises from New York's Saint James (Limelight - R.I.P.) and local legend Andy T. (Covered Wagon - R.I.P.)

Of course, it wouldn't be a proper Day of the Dead celebration without macabre activities!

SKULL FACE PAINTING! Make-up artists will put a ghoulish grin on your face. It's FREE for everyone, though tips are always appreciated.

ALTAR TO THE DEAD! Bring a picture of a deceased loved one or celebrity to add to our altar. Please respect the altar and do not take anything from the ofrenda - items there are for the spirits.

PINATA! How often do you get to savagely swing a big stick in a nightclub (without getting arrested)? Whoever breaks it open will win a gift certificate from Amoeba Music, a Strangelove t-shirt, AND a pair of tickets to see The Birthday Massacre with Aesthetic Perfection at Slim's on Thursday, November 15th.

HALLOWEEN! The Ballad of Michele Myers Raya Light drag halloween san francisco

In San Francisco, we take Halloween seriously and what better way to honor ol' Samhain than with some seriously funny theater!?

HALLOWEEN! The Ballad of Michele Myers is musical parody of America’s obsession with slasher films and answers the age-old question, what happens when you mashup your favorite slasher movies with the scariest television show of all time...The Facts of Life!

Mrs. Skerritt chaperones four school "girls" up to the lake for a fun-filled Halloween dance over at the boys’ camp. But someone also invited crazed tranny killer Michele Myers to crash the party! Watch her slash through her victims to a disco beat! Do-si-do and try to evade her bloody gaze! Rock out with your cock out and it just might get snipped! Shriek in horror at her unmasking! Freddy, Jason, and Michael scared you breathless…now it’s HER TURN!
