We're all in the same boat right now and, although that boat feels like it's on fire and slowly sinking, we're going to be fine as long as we stay away from public gatherings, practice social distancing, and DON'T FREAK OUT. I'm not exactly an expert on not freaking out, but one surefire way I've learned to avoid panic, anxiety, and generalized freak-outs is the pleasure of escape into music, movies, books, and really any kind of art for that matter.

Luckily, the post offices are still making deliveries, and is open for business with free shipping on music and movies to the U.S. New releases continue to appear in the world, like freshly sprung sprouts after a destructive storm (or something like that), and I'll be here with you throughout this insanity, letting you know about the neat new titles that you can have delivered to your door.

Here's some new Blu-ray & DVD releases that came out today, Tuesday, March 17th:

Jumanji: The Next Level
A team of friends return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own but discover that nothing is as they expect. The players need to brave parts unknown, from arid deserts to snowy mountains, in order to escape the world's most dangerous game. Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Danny DeVito will keep your head in this game.

This is Glenn Danzig's (Misfits, Danzig) anthology horror flick based on his comic book. Is it trashy and gory? Heck yes. And it comes with the soundtrack CD included, which is a must for any fan on the Dan Man.

A Hidden Life
The real-life story of conscientious objector, Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. Directed by Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life).

A Pure Formality
Giuseppe Tornatore's (Cinema Paradiso) 1994 dark thriller starring Gérard Depardieu and Roman Polanski. Onoff (Depardieu) is a famed author who hasn’t published anything in years and has become a recluse. One rainy night, he is picked up by the police, who find him running across the French countryside without any identification and apparently suffering from short-term memory loss. A murder has been committed in the nearby woods, and suspecting Onoff’s involvement, the authorities detain him at a command post to await the arrival of the Inspector (Polanski), who’s ironically a fan of Onoff’s work. Through painstaking interrogatory dialectic, the Inspector delves into Onoff’s mind, and brings the writer to a new and unexpected realization. Music by the legendary Ennio Morricone!!

Cannibal Apocalypse
Italian genre-hopping director Antonio Margheriti's 1980 gore-fest gets its first fully restored HD release! Infected Vietnam vets bring back a contagious virus that turns people into cannibals when bitten. With horror-favorite John Saxon (Black Christmas, A Nightmare on Elm Street).
