The countdown is on for the 2019 Record Store Day / Black Friday, happening November 29th, as proven by the official countdown clock posted on the main page of the Record Store Day website. There as well as here on the Amoeba site via pdf format you can also overview/download the full  list of upcoming releases in various genres including hip-hop; the genre focused on in the above top ten limited edition vinyl releases for 2019 RSD / Black Friday.  Incorporating 7”, 12”, LP and picture disc vinyl releases these upcoming RSD limited edition pressings include must-get vinyl releases from such artists as hip-hop supergroup Czarface (RSD launch of The Odd Czar Against Us on green vinyl via Silver Age), Cardi B (Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1 LP), Naughty by Nature (25th anniversary reissue of Poverty's Paradise LP), and J. Cole. The latter is a picture disc reissue of the star artist’s four-song 2014 Forest Hills Drive EP that includes on Side A "Apparently" and "Wet Dreamz" and on Side B "No Role Modelz" and "Love Yours.”

On colored vinyl is Delicious Vinyl Records compilation Delicious Vinyl Best Kept Secrets aka A Slice of Delicious Vinyl: Rare Singles & RMXS LP that will feature on Side A: Fatlip “What’s Up Fatlip?” (Breakbot RMX), Def Jef “Brand New Heavy Freestyle," The WhoRidas “Taxin,’”  Masta Ace “Observations”(feat. Apocalypse)" and Body And Soul “Ya Get’s None." Meanwhile on the various artists album's second B side will be the five tracks: Machel Montano “Come Dig It (Carolina Dub Mix),"  Mr. Vegas “Pull Up,” The Brand New Heavies “Get Used To It (Tom Moutlon Mix),"  illa J “Sounds Like Love (feat. Debi Nova)" and Kenyatta “I Wanna Do Something Freaky To You.”

Also upcoming for RSD 2019 are DMX's The Smoke Out Festival Presents LP which is DMX's live set from Cypress Hill's 2003 Smoke Out Festival and [in a tie for #10] two from the Juggalo family tree; Twiztid’s  A Very Twiztid Christmas 7” and Insane Clown Posse’s Flip The Rat 2LP vinyl version of the February 2019 Psychopathic Records CD release from the jugglalo kings. Also anticipated are both the reissue of Edan’s 2005 second album Beauty and the Beat and the 12” EP reissue of beloved rapper/singer Lizzo’s six-song 2016 major label debut “Coconut Oil.” In addition to the title track this almost 20 minute release includes the songs “Worship,” “Phone,” “Scuse Me,” “Deep” and the ever-popular Lizzo track “Good As Hell.”

And topping the Top Ten Upcoming RSD Hip-Hop vinyl chart is the double LP reissue of Nas’ (long out of print on vinyl) 2001 “comeback” album Stillmatic 2LP. Listed under “RSD First” releases and limited to a double vinyl pressing of 3000 units worldwide, this fifth album release from the Queens rapper, that marked a return to the style of his landmark debut Illmatic, was widely critically acclaimed upon its release back almost two full decades ago.

Lovingly reissued by the (always on point) Get On Down record label (who a couple of weeks ago reissued Nas' album It Was Written 2LP) this upcoming deluxe double LP reissue of Stillmatic (unavailable on vinyl in the US since its original release), will be pressed up on silver vinyl and with remastered audio of all tracks exclusively for RSD Black Friday. Longtime Nas collectors should be pleased to note that this new reissue, like the original pressings of the album 18 years ago, does include the song "Braveheart Party" (a song absent from certain digital reissues of the album over the years).  Record Store Day Black Friday is November 29th when records can be purchased in-store only with leftover titles available online for mail order at the Amoeba website store the following day from first thing in the morning November 30th.
