So beloved was Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed outside his Los Angeles clothing store on March 31st, that tickets for this morning’s “Celebration Of Life” honoring the slain 33 year old artist and activist born Ermias Asghedom at LA’s Staples Center reportedly got snapped up within 20 minutes of being made available online on Tuesday. Luckily for those unable to get tickets for the 21,000 capacity venue’s event as well as those outside the area the event, that will run from 10am until noon local Pacific time, will be live streamed and broadcast via BET with such local LA TV stations as Fox 11, NBC 4, ABC 7 and KTLA all planning on streaming the ceremony live with KTLA streaming the ceremony on its website as well as on Facebook. Immediately following the memorial there will reportedly be a 25 mile procession.

Those who did get free tickets for today’s event however are not allowed to bring in cameras or any kind of recording device.  In fact all attendees at the Staples Center this morning will be subject to bag inspections and metal detector screenings upon entering.

In addition to the overwhelming demand for tickets to today’s large scale memorial for the Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist / entrepreneur and tireless community advocate in his native South Los Angeles, streaming and sales of Nipsey Hussle's music has skyrocketed since his shocking murder less than two weeks ago. For example his February 2018 major label, official debut album Victory Lap that originally debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its initial release 14 months ago, re-entered the Billboard 200 chart at #2 this past week following his death.

Victory Lap, that was also released on LP/vinyl and cassette formats by Atlantic, is currently sold out at Amoeba (although it will be back in stock) while fans are also seeking out the artist’s earlier releases and recordings spanning back a decade, that include 13 mixtapes such as The Marathon, The Marathon Continues and Crenshaw that Omerta pressed up as 2LP vinyl pressing (also currently sold out at Amoeba) as well as dozens of singles like the popular 2010 “Feelin Myself” and numerous popular collaborative tracks. These many studio collaborations include “The Life (feat. Snoop Dogg)” and his series of high profile hits with YG that include YG’s 2012 single "Snitches Ain't Shit" that featured Nipsey as well as Tyga and Snoop Dogg, YG’s 2013 single "You Broke (feat. Nipsey Hussle)” and of course the controversial and phenomenally popular "Fuck Donald Trump" his collaboration with YG on the Compton rap star’s 2016 album Still Brazy.

No doubt in the coming months and years there will be a lot of Nipsey Hussle releases dropping; ones that will range from new recordings scheduled to be released to older forgotten ones and previously unreleased material surfacing for the first time.  Being such a prolific artist, there's undoubtedly a lot of new material that will be surfacing from the beloved slain rapper. In fact just a couple of days ago in an interview Rihanna hinted that she had recorded a track with Nipsey Hussle.   Below are a random series of music videos featuring the late great artist.
