Sharon Van Etten "Comeback Kid" - Remind Me Tomorrow Amoeba-exclusive translucent-violet vinyl LP

Sharon Van Etten and Jagjaguwar Records will team up with Amoeba for a special limited edition vinyl pressing of her January 18th album; Remind Me Tomorrow Amoeba-exclusive translucent-violet vinyl LP. The Amoeba exclusive translucent violet vinyl version (2 per customer limit + can be pre-ordered now) gets released the same day as the three other versions of the anticipated forthcoming album by the prolific rock singer/songwriter:  CD, black vinyl, and blue vinyl. The 41 minute 2019 album by artist (and sometime actress) Sharon Van Etten, includes such exciting tracks as "Memorial Day," "Seventeen," "Malibu" and the advance single "Comeback Kid" that's featured above. Remind follows a series of releases over the past decade by the prolific artist, many of which are still in print and/or currently available from Amoeba such as Epic (Epic LP), Tramp LP, Because I Was In Love, I Don't Want To Let You Down EP, & "Taking Chances" 7" single.

New Jersey born and raised but Brooklyn based, Sharon Van Etten began her prolific recording career in 2005 with Right Beside Me that would be the first in a series of underground DIY CD-R releases over the next few years. The following year the hard-working artist followed up with an impressive five more underground, self-released projects. These included Musical Valium, When The Rain Came, Live At The Bowery Poetry Club (August 5, 2006), and I Miss Tennessee. In 2007 she self-released another very underground album: the lo-fi DIY Home Recordings aka Untitled. The following year she released the same album and songs, but re-recorded in better quality and with new artwork, as the self-titled CD-R album Sharon Van Etten.

All of the hard work, determination, and passion for music paid off for Van Etten whose official debut, Because I Was in Love, would be released in 2009 on Language of Stone via Drag City. In 2017 the album would be reissued in a remastered and remixed version by the Polyvinyl record label. Ba Da Bing Records released the artist’s second official album; 2010’s Epic (avail on vinyl LP). Meanwhile in 2012 the artist’s current label home, Jagjaguwar Records, released her third album; the Aaron Dessner produced Tramp LP. Jagjaguwar followed this up with the release of Van Etten’s Are We There in 2014 and I Don't Want to Let You Down EP (avail on vinyl LP) in 2015.

Jagjaguwar have also released about a dozen 7" singles by the artist over the years including 2014's "Taking Chances." On January 18th, 2019 they will release the long awaited follow-up album Remind Me Tomorrow  - also avail in three vinyl versions: black vinyl LP, and blue vinyl LP and  Remind Me Tomorrow Amoeba-exclusive translucent-violet vinyl LP.

The five year gap between albums by Van Ettan no doubt can be attributed in part to the fact that she became a first time mother last year plus her acting endeavors over the past few years. In addition to being a gifted musician, Van Ettan is also an accomplished actress having appeared in the Showtime Twin Peaks series and in several episodes of Season 1 of The OA on Netflix. She also musically contributed to each of these shows including her song "Tarifa [Roadhouse Mix]" appearing on the various artists collection Twin Peaks Limited Event Series OST (avail on vinyl as 2LP red/black vinyl + 180 Gram 2LP).   Below is Sharon Van Etten's WIMB? episode from Amoeba San Francisco six years ago.
