Record Store Day 2018 at Amoeba Hollywood

Record Store Day kicked off with a bang this year, with eager collectors and fans lining up outside the store many, many hours before Amoeba Hollywood officially opened our doors. Friends were made, dream wish lists compiled, and treats were served to early morning attendees by the good folks at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Watch the video below to see which RSD18 releases the vinyl enthusiasts in line were excited about today.

Here's our look back at some of the coolest things that happened this morning and a taste of the awesome events, sales, and exciting goings-on we had in store for visitors today.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Many shopping sprees were fueled by refreshments from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Silk Screening 2

Family Industries was here silk screening four unique RSD18 designs onto t-shirts and tote bags.

Silk Screening 1

Available designs included (from L-R) works by: 1) Culture Abuse in collaboration with Barbara Georges, 2) Nick Perry of Family Industries, 3) The Egyptian Lover, and 4) Heather Long.

Silk Screening 3

Each design was just $10 and benefited the Silverlake Conservatory of Music! Thanks to Epitaph Records and ANTI- Records for supporting the t-shirts and totes again this year.

Vinyl Sale

We saved some choice used vinyl just for today. A great day to come dig!

Turntable Sale

In fact, some new records would sound great on a 20% off turntable! Also on sale just for Record Store Day: used DVD & Blu-rays (25% off) and mugs, used books, and all posters, including framed & collectible pieces (all 20% off).

Miles Davis' family

How cool is this? Miles Davis' kids Erin and Cheryl and his nephew Vince (who leads the Miles Electric Band) stopped by to celebrate the release of the Rubberband EP, which was out today as a Record Store Day release.

Voter Registration

Headcount was here registering voters! They're a non-partisan organization that works with musicians to promote participation in the democratic process.

Vote Totes

Our exclusive new VOTE! tote bags designed by Shepard Fairey's design house Studio Number One, made their debut today! All proceeds benefit Headcount.

That's not all, folks -- we had awesome happenings, celebrity guests, and of course, killer tunes, well into the evening here at Amoeba Hollywood.
