#1: Del The Funky Homosapien & Tame One Parallel Uni-Verses [10th Anniversary Edition] LP
(Parallel Thoughts)

My initial reaction to today’s vinyl reissue of Del The Funky Homosapien and Tame One’s dope collaborative album Parallel Uni-Verses [10th Anniversary Edition] LP was wow. Wow, it’s already been ten years since the veteran CA and NJ emcees, reppin’ the Hieros and the Artifacts respectively teamed up with Parallel Thought for their throwback themed album?!  Actually it’s not quite a full decade since it was originally released by Parallel Thought LTD (vinyl) and Gold Dust Media on CD back in October 2009; making it closer to an 8 year anniversary than a 10 year one. But no matter since this is a most welcome repressing of a solid, out of print on vinyl album; one by two mic greats that thematically takes the vibe and flow of long ago, back into hip-hop’s roots. Perfectly complimenting Del’s and Tame’s respective flows is Parallel Thought (crew featuring production duo Drum and Knowledge) + DJ cuts by Zac Hendrix. This single vinyl LP release is the same as the original pressing, with its nine tracks clocking in at just under 38 minutes. Immediately below is the Alex Ghassan directed music video for the album track “Flashback” that shot at several NYC locations including at a concert in Brooklyn.

#2: The Alchemist  Paris L.A. Bruxelles Instrumentals LP (ALC Records)

The Alchemist's eight track instrumental album Paris L.A. Bruxelles Instrumentals LP on ALC Records (the same label that two installments of his Rappers Best Friend instrumental series dropped on last year) is the latest from the in-demand producer and busy beatmaker.  This latest instrumental collection from one of hip-hop’s most talented producers is bound to appeal to DJs, producers, and beat diggers. For a taste of these beats in practice, check out the video footage immediately below shot at a 2017 Red Bull sponsored European concert featuring the LA producer with several mic artists working off these instrumentals that fuel the concert clip that runs for over an hour.

#3: Big K.R.I.T. 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time LP (BMG Rights Management)

Following a few months after the CD version of Big K.R.I.T.’s current double album, that dropped back in late October, comes the new two-piece vinyl pressing version of 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time LP.
Two years in the making by the Southern rap icon, the album totals 22 tracks (including "Keep the Devil Off" video below) and clocks in at one hour and twenty minutes total.  A double CD disc set that was divided into two distinct halves: the dirty south Big K.R.I.T. half and the Justin Scott (his birth name) non-flashy, introspective personalized half; the new vinyl version is similarly split into two LPs. Album mic guests include Jill Scott, Robert Glasper, Sleepy Brown, Cee-Lo and the late Pimp C.

#4: TOKIMONSTA Lune Rouge LP (Young Art Records)
TOKiMONSTA's Lune Rouge LP  is filed under both "hip-hop" and "EDM."  But the brand new album by the LA based producer even transcends those two genres with examples including the powerful new album track 'I Wish I Could' featuring Selah Sue. The soulful standout track is also noteworthy for its emotionally charged accompanying music video. The video, which is immediately below, is raw and from the gut and reflects the current state of health care for most struggling poor people in this country.

#5: Macklemore Gemini [Bonus Tracks] 2LP (Bendo/Warner)

Macklemore's new Gemini [Bonus Tracks] 2LP is the expanded vinyl version (bonus tracks) of the second solo studio album by Macklemore that was  released on CD back on September 22, 2017. Without his longtime musical partner Ryan Lewis, with whom he won four Grammys for the Seattle duo’s 2012 debut studio album, Gemini  was Macklemore's first solo album since he way back in the day in 2005 when he dropped his debut solo album The Language of My World. As a duo with Lewis they released 2016's This Unruly Mess I’ve Made which got a somewhat lukewarm reception. This solo album appeared to be better received overall with tracks including “Levitate” and “Good Old Days (feat. Kesha),” and “Marmalade (feat. Lil Yachty).” The bonus tracks on this new 2LP vinyl pressing of the album are  'Wednesday Morning" and "Drug Dealer (feat. Ariana Deboo)." See the already popular for the 2016 produced video for the latter track below.
