1: Beastie Boys The In Sound From Way Out! LP  (Capitol)

The In Sound From Way Out! LP is a reissue by Capitol of the long out of print killer 1996 instrumental compilation album from the Beastie Boys. This new version is 180 gram vinyl and the cover art, while almost exactly the same, is a slightly different shade of each color which you could tell if you have the two versions of this LP side by side. A well chosen collection of instrumental tracks, they include grooves culled from their Ill Communication and Check Your Head albums (with Money Mark on keyboards). The Beasties vinyl reissue is one of three albums getting that treatment from the group this month. The others are To The 5 Boroughs and Hot Sauce Committee Part Two both of which are via Capitol Records also.

2: Wiki No Mountains In Manhattan LP (XL Recordings)

New York rapper Wiki looks set to take it to the next level with today's anticipated release of his official  debut: the two LP set No Mountains In Manhattan LP that  XL Recordings also released on CD version.  Album guests include Ghostface Killah and Your Old Droog. As diehard fans know the 24 year old rapper first emerged, while still a teen, at the start of this decade with NYC crew Ratking along with MC Hak and Sporting Life and featuring such affiliate artists as Princess Nokia.

3: The Perceptionists Resolution LP (Mello Music Group)

Underground hip-hop legends Mr Lif and Afrobatik of The Perceptionists marked their return in 2017 with their first album in a dozen years: an album that addresses the seriously deep life challenges these two talented artists faced.  Mr Lif was in a scary road accident when his tour bus went over a cliff while his Def Jux partner suffered an aortic rupture that required emergency open-heart surgery. Miraculously both survived and are living proof that what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. The eleven track album, that includes such killer cuts as "Let's Battle," "Dirty Drumz" and "Early Mourning," was released in CD version last month by Mello Music Group (Lif's new home) and is now available on LP.

4: Oddisee The Iceberg LP (Mello Music Group)

Following the CD version of this release from eight months ago, Oddisee drops the vinyl version of The Iceberg LP (Mello Music Group) today. It's just the latest in a long list of releases from the talented prolific Washington, D.C. based emcee. His eleventh album, Amoeba previously praised it Explicitly political and topical, Oddisee shies away from any frivolous hip-hop clichés to rail against heavy topics like racism, sexism, and hypocrisy in this ultra-contentious day and age. This is the ugly reflection of 2017 America, with Oddisee more than happy to hold the mirror."

5: Das EFX Dead Serious LP (Music On Vinyl)

Vinyl reissue of the debut 1992 album from 90's hip-hop duo Das EFX (Skoob and Krazy Drazyz). The album was a hit, charting on the Billboard Albums chart top twenty, thanks in great part to the big hit: their self-produced "They Want EFX" that influenced a lot of other rappers at the time. Other album tracks you might recall from this ten track album included "Mic Checka" and "Straight Out The Sewer" that were also hit singles.
