Weyes Blood Amoeba Green Room Session

Brooklyn based singer/songwriter Natalie Mering, also known as Weyes Blood, stopped by Amoeba Hollywood for an intimate performance in our green room before heading out on her (mostly) west coast Weyes Blood Front Row Seat to Earthtour, which will end March 30th at The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. While Mering's recorded output is already hauntingly minimal, without studio or live accompaniment her performance was singularly pure.

Mering starts off with "Generation Why," from her latest LP, Front Row Seat To Earth. The sincerity of her ethereal vocals are paired with a sarcastic wit, as she sings lyrics like "Y-O-L-O, why?." Up next is the subtle epic "Be Free," a delicate but confident break-up waltz. Mering ends her session with "In The Beginning," off her 2015 EP Cardamom Times. Even without the organ and layered vocals her performance is as hypnotic as the studio version.
