Teebs – “Holiday” (featuring Jonti)

teebs amoebaSome sweet sounds from Teebs to match this early Summer weather we’re having. The Brainfeeder producer from Chino Hills has a new album due April 8 called E S T A R A, and we’ve got the second song from it (following the slow-motion jungle beats of “View Point”) with “Holiday.” Stones Throw’s Jonti offers faraway vocals that are folded into a lush dreamscape. Feels like a memory of spending a day in the park.

SFV Acid – “Cheddar Mercedes”

I was never clear if San Fernando Valley-based SFV Acid were a reference to acid house, acid the drug or some sort of actual acid found in the Valley. Whatever the ref, SFV Acid is great, and the awesomely named “Cheddar Mercedes” is a great bit of casio-fueled dingey house stuff. I don’t know what to call this exactly, but it just makes me feel good to listen to it. He’s got a new album out April 25 called Amber’s House on UNO.

Sky Ferreira Films Episode of “What’s In My Bag?”

L.A. pop starlet Sky Ferreira filmed an episode of “What’s In My Bag?” with us when she was here a little while back to play at the store. See her picks, including the cult Reese Witherspoon flick Freeway and Angel Olsen’s haunting Burn Your Fire for No Witness. Find out what album she stole from her roommate.

See her performance at Amoeba below:
