Yo! Bum Rush the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame!
In celebration of their long overdue induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame - ever outspoken, pioneering political charged, legendary hip-hop group Public Enemy are celebrating this week in Los Angeles in style with a three day celebration of the Chuck D led group's historic induction into the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. And when they are inducted this week [the actual induction ceremony happens on Thursday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles] PE will be the fourth hip-hop / rap inductee into the Hall Of Fame - now in its 28th year - taking their prestigious place alongside many legendary rock and roll contemporaries. To kick things off for the three day celebration tomorrow afternoon from 2pm to 5pm, Tuesday April 16, they will host Revolverlution The PE Film Festival at The Gibson Showroom in Beverly Hills. This will be followed tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 8p by Welcome To The Terrordome: A Night At The Grammy Museum where, in the spirit of a town-hall meeting,  Public Enemy will host a meet-and-greet with the public that has supported the band for 26 years with what is billed as, "a vibe session with music videos, commentary, and an up-close and personal conversation with PE members and collaborators, including a Q&A session and unexpected surprises." There will also be music spun by DJ Johnny JUICE Rosado.

On Wednesday (4/17) morning at 9:30am Chuck D will join fellow panelists Jack Douglas, Eddie Kramer, Stewart Copeland (The Police) and Dug Pinnick (King’s X) for a discussion entitled Harder Than You Think; What is Rock and Roll? that will examine three key questions: What is Rock & Roll? What genres should be represented in the Hall of Fame?, and What is the future of Rock and Roll? The panel takes place at the Gibson Beverly Hills Showroom where afterwards  Public Enemy DJs Johnny Juice and DJ Lord will spin. Then later on Wednesday evening over at the House of Blues on Sunset (not far from Amoeba Hollywood) will be a killer all star, throw back rap show entitled Rebels Without A Pause; The Tribute Induction Ceremony of Public Enemy in which  Public Enemy will perform as headliner following sets from Kool Moe Dee & The Treacherous 3, Whodini, J.J. Fad, plus DJ Chuck Chillout. This old school hip-hop concert is being recorded by Centric Television and will be broadcast in June. Right after the concert, from midnight to 2am, Keith Shocklee of The Bomb Squad will present the after party Shut Em Down ; The Post Concert Aftershock Event in the Foundation Room at the House Of Blues.

Then on Thursday (4/18) night is the grand finale of the big week when PE will be inducted along with Heart, Albert King, Randy Newman, Rush, and the late great Donna Summer at the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Nokia Theater, Los Angeles. Public Enemy (both all of its original and current members) are to be inducted by Harry Belafonte and Spike Lee. Additionally at Thursday night's big ceremony non-performer awards will be given to both Lou Adler and Quincy Jones. The event is being televised on HBO for broadcast next month, May 2013. Tickets to the 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the  Nokia Theatre range in price from $75 to $750. More ticket info here.
