If you're staying in town over Memorial Day, there are bunch of fun options happening in LA over the three-day weekend. Namely, lots and lots of festivals.
Silver Lake Jubilee Flyer
Silver Lake Jubilee

What:  A two-day street festival in Silver Lake featuring Aloe Blacc, KINKY, Autolux, La Sera, Abe Vigoda, Allah-Lahs, Eastern Conference Champions (one of my favorite local LA bands), The Soft Pack, and a bunch of other bands. Plus, food trucks, comedians, and a general committment to eco-consciousness. Remember to bring your own water bottle so you can fill up for free at their water fountains.

JazzReggae Flier
The JazzReggae Festival

The 26th annual festival features The Roots, Shaggy, Booker T. Jones, Thundercat, and Gary Clark Jr. Sunday is "Jam Day" and Monday is "Reggae Day" (where's the Jazz Day?). Admittedly I'm not much of a reggae fan so Sunday would be my pick anyway, but with The Roots, Thundercat and Gary Clark Jr all one bill it's gonna be pretty amazing.

When:  Sunday, May 27 and Monday, May 28

Where:  UCLA's Intramural Field

Tickets: Single day or weekend passes are available at Amoeba Hollywood now or you can get tickets day-of at the festival.

UPDATE 5/27: Amoeba Hollywood is sold out of JazzReggae Festival tickets, but you should still be able to purchase them at the gates.

After that the audience votes on which film out of the fifteen everyone watches in its entirety. Remember to bring something to cook on the grill.
