Foreign Legion "Travel Lite" (extended video version) (2011)

Care of the always self-effacinging funny rap duo of Foreign Legion (witty & talented Oakland emcees Prozack Turner and Marc Stretch) comes the above latest extended version video for "Travel Lite" from the pair's recommended current album Night Moves - on Hunger Strike Records/Quality Control and available at Amoeba Music.

Without even trying Marc and Zack are just naturally funny and, unlike so much of hip-hop these days, do not take themselves seriously by any means as they trade quips, one liners, and so corny they're funny jokes.  Included in the deliberately silly (including canned laughter) clip are such jokes as Stewardess: "Have you ever been in the Navy?"  Prozack: "Well.. I used to work at Old Navy." Ba-da-boom!

And below is the brand new video for "The Hex" by Random Axe, the latest outing from the rap supergroup comprised of Sean Price, Black Milk, and Guilty Simpson. The song is one of the many audio treats found on the new fifteen track CD simply titled Random Axe that is available at Amoeba and is featured in the new Hip-Hop Top Five found immediately below the video

This week's chart is comprised of four brand new releases plus the soon to drop (July 19) new joint by unique Chicago emcee Serengeti who, following a ton of cameos on other peoples' projects over the past year plus, drops his own long awaited latest solo album (and the artist's first for Anticon Family & Friends. The album, which is produced by both WHY? frontman Yoni Wolf and Advance Base, a.k.a. Owen Ashworth - the artist formerly known as Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, is amazing in both production-wise and lyrically. I will write in more detail about it when the Ameoblog catches up with the artist for an interview here in two weeks right as the album arrives on Amoeba shelves. Meantime below is the advance video for the album track "Flutes." Note that there will also be an upcoming Amoeblog interview with famed Hiero member Casual whose killer latest The Hierophant is also included on this latest top five. And if you want a copy of Moe Green's new Lionheart EP you can cop the ten track release (teaser for the Bay Area artist's official forthcoming album) for free download.

And finally I leave you with the brand new Anthony DeRose directed video for underrated East Coast emcee Apathy's brand new song "Check To Check" which is the first single from his forthcoming Honkey Kong album. The album, produced by Evidence of Dilated Peoples fame, will arrive in Amoeba Music on August 23rd and will be packed with no holds barred, down to earth observant rap rhymes like on the single "Check To Check" in which Apathy spits rhymes about been broke and struggling as a rapper in this free download age. "I wish someone would have taught me how to deal. But I ain't talking about trees or keys or blow. I aint never been responsible with my dough...... making paper off rap now is tougher than leather. I love music forever but we can't stay together"
