Despite its hot dogs and apple pie album title, Ryan Binghman’s newest record is no Miller Lite-pounding, flag-humping love letter. It might celebrate a hard livin’ (and hard drinkin’) sort of rough and tumble life, one that’s plenty romanticized in nearly any country song ever, but it addresses that cold, empty pit underneath it all. “Jingle and Go” takes all your money and spends it at the bar last night, while “Wolves” provides the only shoulder in the room to cry on. Nobody loves a winner more than America. Here’s to all the beautiful losers.
