Mirah is a singer-songwriter who has been part of the Northwest independent music scene since moving to Olympia, Washington at age 18. Born Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn, she has released four solo full-length albums on K Records: You Think It’s Like This But Really It’s Like This (2000), Advisory Committee (2001), C'mon Miracle (2004), and (a)spera (2009).
From the beginning of her career, Mirah collaborated extensively with other musicians. Her first album featured collaborations with Phil Elverum of The Microphones. In 2003, she released Songs from the Black Mountain Music Project (K Records) with Brooklyn musician Ginger Brooks Takahashi. Next, she recorded a collection of cover songs with Black Cat Orchestra called To All We Stretch the Open Arm (Yo Yo Recordings, 2004). In 2007, she reunited with Lori Goldston and Kyle Hanson of Black Cat Orchestra (now known as Spectratone International) to release Share This Place: Stories and Observations, a concept album about the lives of insects.
Mirah has also released dance versions of her songs. 2006 saw the release of Joyride: Remixes, a collection of remixes from Mirah's three previous albums done by other K Records artists. In August 2010, Mirah released Gone Are All The Days, a 12" disco remix of a track from (a)spera.
