Holly Miranda is a singer/songwriter who has been living in New York since she was 16. Her debut full-length album, The Magician's Private Library (XL Recordings), will be released on February 23, 2010. It was produced by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek and features TVOTR's Kyp Malone and Jaleel Bunton, as well as members of Antibalas. Miranda grew up in a religious family and began singing in church, learning to play the guitar and piano. After moving to NYC, she played open mics, formed a band called the Jealous Girlfriends, was signed to a major record label at age 17 (which she later walked away from), and released her first solo EP Sleep on Fire.
Kyp Malone is the singer and guitarist for TV On The Radio, a New York-based band that combines rock, electronic, jazz, and soul music. TV On The Radio has released four studio albums, including 2008's Dear Science (Interscope), as well as a number of EPs including a Live at Amoeba EP (Interscope, 2007). Malone released his first solo album under the moniker Rain Machine in September 2009 on Anti-records.
