Jason Mewes is an actor best known as one-half of the on-screen comedy duo Jay & Silent Bob. He had his screen debut in 1994 with the award winning independent comedy Clerks. Filmed in the convenience store where Mewes and Kevin Smith worked, Clerks cost less than $30,000 to make and eventually became a cult-hit, earning more than $3 million. Mewes would continue in the role of "Jay" in a series of Kevin Smith's indie films including Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Clerks II.

In addtion, to his beloved "Jay"  character, Mewes has also appeared in a variety of films including Hot Rush (2002), High Times Potluck (2002), Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003), My Big Fat Independent Movie (2005), Feast (2005), National Lampoon's TV: The Movie (2006), and Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008). In 2010, Mewes starred in mobster comedy The Last Godfather alongside Harvey Keitel and appeared in a Canadian television series, Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, for CTV's SPACE channel. Mewes also co-hosts a popular weekly podcast with Kevin Smith, "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old," which chronicles their lives. Mewes and Smith recently toured the UK with their series and released a two-disc DVD set, Jay and Silent Bob Get Old: Tea Bagging In The UK (Industrial Entertainment), on August 14, 2012.
