Traveler (CD)
Trey Anastasio
Amoeba Review
10/15/2012
Phish frontman Anastasio soars the spaceways in search of some serious avant-funky grooves, and blasts them back to earth people in this new time capsule entitled Traveler. It's another fine dose of his uplifting, devilishly tricky guitar work, augmented by fat horn charts and extraterrestrial synths, and of course, a good bit of freaky orchestration. He even pays tribute to fellow genre-hoppers Gorillaz, on a tripped-out cover of their classic "Clint Eastwood." Reggae space jazz, rare groove country funk, it's all out-of-body music for alien hippies who crave that endless jam. Let guitar maestro Anastasio be your Captain Picard! Read More
