Laid-back, smokey NYC vocalist Rita DaCosta is backed by a fantastic trio fronted by Cedar Walton on this lost jewel from the mid 1970s. The sound on this recording is crisp, clear and definitely shows off the talents of both DaCosta and Walton. Sung in Spanish, "The Boy From Impanema" wonderfully highlights a unique range in DaCosta vocal repertoire. The other tracks weave Walton's confident playing around DaCosta without either getting in the way or fading too far out of the arrangements. Cool record.
