The mix of covers and originals by Grammy-winner Crowell features songs like Roger Miller’s “Invitation to the Blues,” given a rollicking bluegrass treatment that highlights the quality of Harris and Crowell’s voices and harmonies. Harris’ world-weary delivery comes through on spare tracks like the detail-laden “Spanish Dancer,” by Patti Scialfa, and Crowell shines on the piano-led “Open Season,” by Crowell and James Thomas Slater.
