Singer and conguero Joe Cuba (a.k.a. El Alcalde Del Barrio) was a master of fusing styles, particularly those of Salsa and Soul - eventually called Boogaloo. His approach also included Swing and other popular styles, and his various vibrant ensembles set new standards in dynamism. This two-disc set does justice to that restless creativity.
